This is like a community get-together which allows people to network and help each other. Search the internet for forums in your market niche and join the forum. Spend some time in watching what other people are saying. You will be able to discover the urgent issues and concerns of the members. These can give you good idea on product development. Then gradually start interacting with the members and make friends. You can then ask them directly about their problems and discuss product ideas.
• Social Networking: Sites like Face-book, Twitter and My-Space are very popular with people since they can come together as groups connected by universities, workplace and interests. You can discover groups which share the same interests as you do and start collaborating with the members of the group. Again you will discover the pressing and important concerns of the people which motivate them to come together.

If you have a product idea and find out that not many people are searching for that, then it might not be a good idea to pursue it further.
